The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, was present at the presentation of the draft for the new Criminal Code.
In his speech, Manja said that this draft will be subject to a consultation phase, where the ministry and the government will be interested parties.
Manja has also invited the opposition to be part of the expertise and consultation tables for the draft of the new Criminal Code.
" It is not a final draft. It will be subject to a consultation phase. This draft will take up all the time for public consultation. The ministry and the government will be the only institutional stakeholders. A key moment to build together a fundamental act of the rule of law. The opposition should contribute with expertise and participation in the consultation rounds. This draft is a good solid basis to start with public consultation. We are committed to this process taking all the necessary consultation time ," said Manja./ CNA
