Journalist Tomorri: Rama is assigning public assets to Albania's new owners

Journalist Klodian Tomorri shared his position today regarding the situation in the country, including recent legal changes on the control and development of the territory.

Invited to a show on 'Syri TV', Tomorri said that this story is a film and a story repeated over the years.

Tomorri accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of assigning public assets to Albania's new owners.

"Now is the period of dividing the spoils.
This history of territorial control is a movie that Albania, or Albanians, sees repeating itself as a sequence of a movie that repeats itself. If we go back to 2017, there was a similar action; at that time Gjiknuri was Minister of Infrastructure and Energy. It is the same philosophy and the same words.

First, the legal changes that have occurred recently began in 2020, when Rama changed the territorial development law and, at that time, took advantage of the opportunity because he had all his own municipalities and no one attacked him. From there, he began to usurp the competencies of the municipalities and is now usurping them more and more, making the mayors of the municipalities look like the mayors of the former Democratic Front, who only had a "consultative" process, where they were asked for their opinions, like the communists, but they practically have no competence.
All these changes that have occurred regarding the management, control of the territory, and so on, are all unconstitutional, but that moment was taken advantage of in 2020, when all the municipalities belonged to the Socialist Party and no one attacked them in the Constitutional Court.

Second, the properties that are transferred to the Albanian Investment Corporation are for construction, because the corporation was created for that purpose. So, the Investment Corporation is not taking that strip that Ristani says is behind the Palace of Congresses for a garden, but for some tower. That word “redevelopment” that they use is the term used for the robbery of any public property.

Practically, it is a frontal attack to divide the spoils and to fundamentally destroy all remaining public assets. Rama is appointing those who will be the owners of Albania from now on. He has made perhaps the largest transfer of ownership in Europe in the last 100 years.

What is happening with the economy, because what is happening is a consequence of the economic model that this government has chosen. Where, despite the large flows that may come from illegal sources or from illegal channels, it is essentially an unsustainable model and cannot continue forever.
