The political leader of the Democratic Party for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, today, May 1, International Workers' Day, in a reaction on social networks, declared that the wounds in Albania are open as day after day in the country we hear about cases of workers losing their lives on construction sites or from stray bullets in the workplace.

Këlliçi emphasizes that these losses are not accidents but occur as a result of state negligence, uncontrolled exploitation and the complete failure of inspectorates and monitoring institutions.

The political leader of the Democratic Party for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, has called on citizens to vote for the Democratic Party in the May 11 elections to make a difference.

"On May 1st, we remember that dignity is not given, it is earned.

From the fight for the eight-hour day to the battles for safe working conditions, every inch of dignity has been earned through hard work, courage, and perseverance.

In Albania, the wounds are still open. The deaths of workers on construction sites, in mines, or in the workplace from blank bullets remind us that the violation of the right to safety and life continues more than ever. Behind every statistic lies a name, a family, a story unjustly interrupted. These losses are not accidents but the result of state negligence, uncontrolled exploitation and the complete failure of inspectorates and monitoring institutions.

No business that survives by paying less than a living wage has a right to exist. The stability and strength of the nation depend on the well-being of those who work with their hands and minds.

Therefore, today, 11 days before the vote, our commitment is clear:

→ Minimum salary of 500 euros within the first 100 days.

→ Average salary 1,200 euros during the mandate.

→ Doubling salaries for doctors and nurses.

→ Minimum pension of 200 euros for every elderly person.

→ Scholarships and assistance for families in need, orphans and students.

"If you believe that respect, justice, and human life should be the foundation of the future of work, on May 11th, vote for dignity. Vote number 1," Këlliçi writes./ CNA
