The former head of the Red and Black Alliance, Kreshnik Spahiu, asked this evening to change the current electoral system.
Spahiu said on Erla Mëhilli's show that the country is heading towards a kingdom, as he claims that Prime Minister Edi Rama gains power at the table.
The only way to stop this, according to the lawyer, is a referendum.
"The referendum has remained the last weapon to change the electoral system. We all agree that Rama gains power at the table. No political party, if it enters a single election without any coalition, if there will be free, equal and guaranteed voting for those Albanians who are outside, Rama will not be in power. 1 party cannot defeat a coalition of parties... I am of the principle that the referendum should be held. If the referendum is held, I will line up for the opposition to overthrow this electoral system, otherwise we will go towards a kingdom", emphasized Spahiu./ CNA.al
