Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that while his stance is against SPAK's request to lift the immunity of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, he does not condemn the latter, but only demands the presumption of innocence.
In his speech at the meeting of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Rama stated that the opposition has sentenced Balluk without a trial, while also mentioning the media treatment of the case.
"With Molotov cocktails in their hands and mouths, they may or may not be sympathizers now. They have sentenced him without a trial, without even giving him the right to defend himself, they want to see him in prison. I tell them to ask themselves a question, where are we changing? It is not a question they are asking today to defend Balluku. I am not anyone's lawyer. This is a question I am asking today because I am the prime minister of this country. I am facing a challenge taken on by the Socialist Party. This great truth is called the 'presumption of innocence'. Between justice and dictatorship and arbitrariness. Our challenge is also the defense of justice by us. But the media pots have been used. This is not the first time. The media judge was in another massacre of stones, with a house book until the Middle Ages, no longer for a European society", - said Rama./CNA
