Rama on railways: Transition has begun, plan for electrified system across the country ready

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today details of the project for the development of Albanian railways.

Rama stated that there is a concrete plan to build thousands of kilometers of railway throughout Albania, connecting us to neighboring countries, through an electrified system.

 "They say about the railways. The 'freedom-democracy' of the 90s destroyed it. We need not only a great reputation, but also financing capacity. Now we do not just have a goal, but a concrete plan to build about 3500 km of electrified railway. These are concrete processes. The Tirana-Rinas line will be ready like the first. The railway with Hani i Hotit is in the procurement process. Part of Corridor VIII is Durrës-Rrogozhinë that starts at the end of this year and Rrogozhinë-Pogradec is in the plan. A project has been launched for several lines that will connect ports and airports with railway transport", said Rama. /CNA
