Today, the Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, declared that the Electoral Reform Commission will be established tomorrow and will be done by consensus.

"When it comes to Electoral Reform, it is necessary that even parliamentary parties that do not have a parliamentary group or parties that have the goodwill of a large parliamentary group to remove deputies from themselves and give them the opportunity to form a parliamentary group, be represented in the Special Electoral Reform Commission. My proposal has been the same as it always is. To be equal in number, in the right of veto, the greatest guarantee that the two large parties have, but the Socialist Party wants and insists and that is why we have left pending only this point of the decision to approve it together with the other parliamentary parties to be there. When we see that the DP needs these small parties, and even borrows from them the candidate for mayor that they themselves do not have, why should we exclude these small parties from the Electoral Reform ," said Balla.

Regarding this statement, Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi, in an interview with journalist Ola Bruko, said that there is no consensus on the committees and this is "fake news".

Regarding the composition of the committees submitted by the SP to the Assembly, Këlliçi stated that Albania's opposition is the DP-ASHM coalition.

" The opposition in this country is the Democratic Party and the parliamentary parties that are part of the coalition for a Greater Albania that competed on May 11, but here I do not exclude either Agron Shehaj's party or Lapaj's or the Together Movement because they are in opposition, but these are the opposition parties and they cannot appoint us to the composition so that they can then have the numbers themselves and reject every proposal of the opposition and the Democratic Party and choose the format and number of municipalities themselves in the case of territorial reform as they want or the Electoral Code that they want.

"This is "fake news", there was no agreement, there was a submission of our requests in writing by Gazment Bardhi on behalf of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group and I believe that tomorrow it will be a matter of discussion together with the five reports that will come to Parliament and together with the waste law", said Këlliçi./ CNA
