DP Chairman Sali Berisha was asked at a press conference about his failure to appear at SPAK today after being summoned for the "January 21" case.

Berisha said that he did not appear because he claimed that he had not received any summons. He further added that he is one of the people most interested in shedding light on the events of that day.

"I have stated and proven that I respond to any summons, from anyone. There is no wavering in this stance and there never can be. When a summons is issued, the law is that it is served and the person to whom it is served is given the signature. And whether I am at headquarters or at home, I have responsible people who never sign for a document addressed to me. From the 3rd to the 14th, that document could have come 5 times to my office, home, or to Parliament. And it did not come. But this was needed to create news on the shows, whether I would go or not. None of them. If we go back to January 21, 7 pm, the first person to demand a full investigation for that day is Sali Berisha.

I was deeply interested in investigations, perhaps more than anyone else. This had to be clarified in the best interest of the Albanian state. 12 years have passed since 2013, and that investigation was not done because it exposes the main person responsible for the most violent protest in the country's history, Edi Rama. That's why the investigation was not done. That's why Ina Rama did not call Sali Berisha. If they do this to cover up scandals, they will only get failure. They did not call me. Every time they call me, I will go, there is nothing wrong with that," Berisha said.
