The Chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, at the meeting of the National Steering Committee, spoke about the chaos created in the Assembly due to the non-fulfillment of the opposition's demands by the majority.

Meta said that the Assembly has been hijacked by the Government and the political activity of the deputies has been limited by special laws and exceptions.

He emphasized that basic human rights and freedoms have been hijacked by the majority, which he called the mafia.

"Albania today is a narco-state, where:

- Basic human rights and freedoms have been hijacked by the mafia in power;

- Where the system of checks and balances does not exist due to state capture;

- Where accountability has been destroyed;

- As you can see, the Assembly has been hijacked by the Government and the political activity of the elected representatives of the opposition in the Assembly and local government has been limited by special laws and exceptions;

- Where the Opposition is "appointed" by court decisions and its real leaders are arrested, isolated, threatened and blackmailed;

- Where justice has been captured in a mafia manner and operates by directing selective strikes according to the Prime Minister's political interest of the day and in the service of his electoral agendas.

And of course, this democratic degradation has produced economic ruin and dramatic depopulation of the country", underlined the head of PL./ CNA
