The leader of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, announced that during his visit to Washington, he held a meeting with the US Assistant Attorney General, Mr. Aaron Reitz.

The media outlet reveals that during the meeting with Reitz, he spoke about the need for an independent judiciary in Albania that is not used for political purposes.

"During my visit to Washington DC last week, I had the pleasure of holding a working dinner with US Assistant Attorney General Mr. Aaron Reitz, with whom we discussed the need for an independent judiciary in Albania that is not used for political purposes, justice that respects the Constitution, legal certainty, and a fair legal process," writes Mediu.

He also stated that he had a meeting with the Chairman of the European Commission Keith Self, the Chairman of the Albania Caucus Robert Aderholt, Congressman Pete Session, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Government Policies, the member of the Judiciary Committee Congressman Lance Gooden, and Congressman Mark Vasey, whom he informed about the problems of election manipulation and the electoral farce in Albania, the government's collaboration with organized crime in buying votes and intimidation of voters.
