Balla responds to Berisha: The opposition's attempt to tarnish

In today's session, Minister of State, Taulant Balla, asked the opposition to give up "blackening" Albania in international institutions, as he referred to the recent case, when the leader of the Democratic Party, Berisha, denounced Albania to the MEPs, also demanding the blocking of negotiations. 

"Give up that great shame, because you will continue to sink even deeper. Do you understand? The vote of the Albanians and above all of the diaspora was an appreciation for Edi Rama's work in government and a punishment for your behavior towards Albania all these years. Someone who is paid with Albanian taxes, a member of Parliament, comes out and goes there shouting: 'narco-state, narco-state'! Let it go! You should be ashamed, because this country is shared, and you cannot make fools of Albanians," Balla said.

Balla called on the opposition to reflect.

"You have a golden opportunity to reflect on all the behavior you have had in the last 12 years, at least from September onwards, to sit down and work together for this historic moment. The opposition has an irreplaceable role in this process. And it definitely needs to reflect to become part of it", said Balla.

During his speech, Balla said that rapporteur Schieder, in a single sentence, proudly called Albania the first country running to become a member of the EU. /CNA
