Vote recount begins on Tuesday/ Ballot boxes open for 4 districts

The vote recount process will begin on Tuesday, initially with the Elbasan Region, then continue with Tirana, Fier and Durrës. In total, during this process, around 2,240 ballot boxes will be opened and verified in four regions of the country.

The first 96 boxes to be opened are from Elbasan, to verify the DP's claims about the so-called "Bulgarian train" in Gramsh and Peqin.

The CEC will check if there is a discrepancy between the number of votes cast and the number of voters who participated in the elections.

After the completion of the verifications in Elbasan, the process will continue with the full recount of the ballot boxes in the other 3 districts. In Tirana, 1,282 ballot boxes will be opened, in Fier 587 boxes, while in Durrës 275 ballot boxes will be recounted.

Also, 126 other selected ballot boxes will be opened in this district for additional verification, including ballot boxes from abroad.

The CEC has announced that for Tirana the process is expected to last about 10 days, while in other regions the deadlines will be determined depending on the progress of the work./ CNA
