The Minister of State for Parliamentary Relations, Taulant Balla, participated in the ceremony of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the "Friedrich Ebert Stiftung" (FES), where he delivered a welcoming speech with appreciation for the role of the foundation and the partnership with Albania.

"Gratitude to the Friedrich Ebert Foundation for its many years of cooperation, especially in the areas of democracy, political parties, the rule of law, European integration, social policies, youth empowerment and civic participation, gender equality, as well as regional security and cooperation."

The Minister said he feels honored to participate in the celebration of a century of FES' commitment to democratic values, social justice and progressive engagement. Balla, quoting Friedrich Ebert, said: "Freedom and justice are twin sisters."

Balla also emphasized the long and significant relationship that the Socialist Party and Albania have had with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, thanking the German government for its continued support in areas important for the country's development.

"Germany remains our most important partner, especially through cooperation with KfW, in vital projects such as sewerage, water supply, electricity and many others," the minister emphasized, underlining the importance of the support of German partners in strengthening infrastructure and welfare in the country.

At the end of his speech, Balla conveyed greetings to the president of FES, Martin Schulz, whom he described as "a great friend of Albania."

He also expressed gratitude to the entire family of German political foundations operating in Albania, including "Konrad-Adenauer", "Hanns-Seidel", "Heinrich-Böll" and "Rosa-Luxemburg", for their contribution to strengthening democracy, civic education and sustainable development./ CNA
