"The government made an illegal decision"/ Hoxhaj: Forgiving fines before the elections is a flagrant case

Candidate for MP, Ilda Zhulali, said today that vote fraud is the result of a complicated system that aims to control the election result and maintain power.
Invited to a show on 'Syri TV', Zhulali emphasized that light should be shed on the mechanisms of deformation of the will of citizens in the electoral process in Albania.
"What is most frustrating in this whole situation is how difficult it is to explain the extent of the impact of these phenomena on citizens - vote buying, the impact of crime, and all the other elements that, if you break them down little by little, you understand that it is not just an instrument in the hands of the government that makes a big difference and alienates the vote. It is all of these factors together that bring about this alienation."
The alienation of the vote occurs to a certain extent, 5% to one category, then further to another, and thus this percentage of 53% of the votes, translated into 83 mandates, has been reached. This is an alienation of the entire system.
It's like a wall built brick by brick by the current government. And what's more serious besides the violation of the law, which even the justice institutions didn't see or didn't want to see, is the collaboration with organized crime. This is something you can't "take" like you can, for example, with pensioners. This other part is much harder to measure and convey to voters, because what I understood was a deep sense of fear among people.
A fear of the electoral process, of the way the vote is read and manipulated. This was a feeling expressed by everyone we met during the campaign.
Another case that shows how much pressure an Albanian citizen is under, how frustrated and scared he is is the case of the poisoning of children in Gramsh. In a public kindergarten, neither the children nor the parents had the courage to protest, to demand accountability for the lives of their children. The child's life is in danger, and you are afraid to speak out. If you are afraid to speak out about your child, who is allegedly sacrificing everything, imagine how easy it is to be threatened and intimidated for a vote.
This is the level of fear we are talking about. And this shows the pressure and coercion of a government that has accumulated all the power and that collaborates with organized crime.
Today there is a new situation. Previously, in statements about the Balkans, state capture was mentioned, but the countries where this happened were not clearly mentioned. Now we are moving towards the concrete identification of these countries. This has been said about Serbia, but Albania is also heading towards the same conclusion. And when a name is given to this situation, it will delegitimize not only Rama's power, but also these elections. After this, other international conditions will follow", - said Zhulali. /CNA
