The Democratic Party candidate in the May 11 elections, Aulon Kalaja, said today that he will address the Constitutional Court on the issue of appealing the result and if it is not approved, he will go to the Strasbourg Court.

Invited to a television show, Kalaja said that he is acting in this way to set a standard for other candidates.

Kalaja said he disagrees with the decision to open part of the ballot boxes.

"The Venice Commission and the OSCE-ODIHR have said to include the candidates so that they are legitimate in the process, it was not taken into account. We will go to the Constitutional Court. I agree that judges should not be corrupted and that salaries should be increased. If it is not approved in the Constitutional Court, it will go to Strasbourg. I am doing it to set a standard for other candidates. The day before yesterday I submitted a video of how my votes were taken in Durrës. It is multifaceted, I also submitted footage of how the DP votes were taken by the SP. In a strange decision that I do not agree with, they say that only a part of the boxes will be opened," said Kalaja. /CNA
