The legal advisor of the Democratic Party, Franc Nuri, said today that the DP has evidence of flagrant cases of vote buying in the May 11 elections.
Invited to a television space on 'Syri TV', Nuri stated that the opposition has a duty to expose the facts that the elections are illegal and invalid, while law enforcement bodies should bring to justice the persons responsible.
Nuri added that those who bargain at the expense of the opposition, even if they are from the opposition, will not be tolerated or amnestied.
"Berisha has exposed two flagrant cases, after the citizen voted, one of the observers goes and then takes the box, turns it upside down and takes out the ballot paper and then checks who he voted for, and then throws the paper back into the box. It is done to control the vote, patronage. Either vote control or vote buying. They want to control it and be sure. They do this in broad daylight and in front of the cameras, exposing these facts makes these people reflect on what they did on May 11th.
The VC footage has been requested. It is being processed and analyzed. There is enough footage for months, nothing can be saved. The people who are responsible will be exposed every day and flagrant cases will come to light. The people who have collaborated will be held accountable as appropriate. Today we have a duty to expose the facts that the elections are illegal and invalid, this applies to us as the opposition and the DP, let the law enforcement bodies bring out the responsible people. They have violated the law, they must be held accountable. No one can bargain at the expense of the opposition, even if these violators are from the opposition. They cannot be tolerated and amnestied. They cannot mock the vote of the Democrats and Albanians. They were an orchestrated farce, not elections.
In a country like Albania, which has been under pressure from the government, gangs and criminal groups have been used in certain areas in many large cities of the country, there have been millions of euros from the state in various forms, bonuses, dirty money, fiscal favors.
"The DP is conducting a long appeal process, it can be compared to the 2001 elections, this procedure has not been followed, there have not been these dimensions in the last 20 years. We are feeding evidence not only to citizens but also to international partners, such as the OSCE-ODIHR", - said Nuri./CNA
