"Atypical Council Meetings"/ Teliti: Tirana is led by Rama

The Deputy Chairman of the Tirana Municipal Council, Dorian Teliti, has stated that Tirana is run by Rama and not by the municipality.

Teliti emphasized that the opposition will continue to provide transparency on every type of activity and activity exercised and executed by the Municipality of Tirana.

"The opposition in the Municipal Council will continue to do what it has done during these two and a half years of presence, since June 2023, when it returned to opposition activity in the Tirana Municipal Council. What we have done best, the best possible, is transparency over every type of activity and activity exercised and executed by the Municipality of Tirana," said Teliti.

He considered the meetings at the City Council atypical where people's problems and issues are not discussed.

"Even today, when we had a council meeting that ended an hour ago, we have precisely continued that atypical series of meetings where people's problems and issues are not discussed. I also requested on behalf of the opposition, I requested at the beginning of the meeting that we discuss the problems and issues that people really have. The issues of the start of school, which started yesterday. The issues of education in Tirana, on the state of waste, on the numerous issues that this famous action of liberating public spaces has raised, which has indeed liberating some occupied spaces, but at the same time has also demolished hundreds of others that were with permission from the local government, in open violation of the law. What is left for the opposition? To do what it does best for itself...which is, to create transparency.

"We are in an atypical situation today, where we have an elected mayor who is in prison, who has commanded a female mayor for 3 months and who is currently in her seventh month of office, while the prime minister is the 'de facto' mayor of Tirana, who has appointed 4 ministers to deal with the affairs of the municipality of Tirana, where these 4 ministers have appointed a secretary mainly to be in their place since they have jobs in the ministry," Teliti said./ CNA
