Today, the proceedings of the Conference of Parliamentary Committees for European Integration/European Affairs of the Participating States in the Stabilization and Association Process of South-Eastern Europe began at the Palace of Congresses.

The opening session of the Conference, moderated by the Chair of the Committee for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ms. Jorida Tabaku, was attended by the Speaker of the Parliament, Ms. Elisa Spiropali, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Igli Hasani, and the Ambassador of the European Union, Mr. Silvio Gonzato.

"EU enlargement and Euro-Atlantic expansion for the region remain a priority. It is true that with the elections that have taken place in Europe and the US, we must once again intensify our efforts and strategic efforts, but also that foreign policies be oriented precisely where there is the greatest need, in the expansion of our region and on the other hand, ensure that foreign policy maintains priorities," said Tabaku.

"We are together to discuss the challenges of EU membership. Integration is not just a separate project of our countries, but it is a regional and broader project. We are all witnesses that this part of the continent has taken on a political connotation, which I believe does not seem fair," said Spiropali.
