Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a meeting with the assemblies in Tirana, has spoken again about justice and the arrest of Veliaj. Rama continues to say that the arrest of the mayor was made without a trial and has turned into a media soap opera. The prime minister called Veliaj's arrest a tragic miscarriage of justice.

" We wanted Albania to be put to the test of an independent justice system. To have an independent justice system that also fights the thieves within us. The goal was to make Albania a member of the EU and give future generations a chance to have an independent justice system. Albania has never had a single case where a person or an elected official was taken by a judge and prosecutor and investigated or sentenced. Let alone then being made into a soap opera in the media, or being lynched and sentenced without trial.

There are things that are not going well in this process, but in 5 years we have gritted our teeth that independence has been the main thing. It is not only independence, it is also professionalism. We want European justice, not like in Russia. We want final justice, not justice without a trial. We have told justice to eat my body even if it bites by mistake. Wrong bites of justice are tragedies ," said Rama.

Prime Minister Rama has once again criticized the opposition and the media, calling them owls, toads and skunks, referring to the news and accusations about his attacks on justice in recent days.

" It is not the principle that everyone is guilty and let's prove that he is innocent. They have no other way to defeat us. Today, all kinds of political and media swamp species are screaming that we are threatening SPAK. While the swamp owl with its toads and toads continues to bring denunciations to SPAK. If justice is a sword, the main role of the sword is played by the prosecution. Justice is not only a sword, it is also a scale. Justice must be blind, it must not see who has the highest and lowest social status. Today, justice has the sword because we gave it to it. It was the sword with which the government stood over the head of justice ", said the Prime Minister./ CNA
