Manastirliu: Plan of measures for inspections in public and non-public
Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu

The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, together with the chairman of the SP Group, Bledi Çuçi, and the Mayor of Berat, Ervin Demo, inspected the "Babë Dudë Karbunara" school, which on September 9 will open its doors to 640 students and teachers.

"This school is a new model of public infrastructure, but on the other hand it also gives us a new dimension to our Community Center program. The school is coming to an end, we saw up close all the facilities dedicated to classrooms, science, technology and information laboratories, the new Olympic-standard gymnasium that will serve not only the school, but also the whole surrounding community, as well as the library which will be not only for the school, but also for the city and the youth of Berat", said the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu.

Investments will continue in the city of Berat. In another school, the works have already started. With the 2024 budget, there are 40 new construction sites across the country where work is being done to create contemporary conditions for students and teachers from north to south.

"We come with good news for Berat. We have already opened the works for the 9-year school, '22 Tetori' with the support of the Albanian government, the Ministry of Education and the Municipality of Berat, another emblem school for Berat. They are investments that are alienating and re-dimensioning the development of the city, which starts with the education of children and education", said Manastirliu.

Better conditions for students and support for teachers across the country are the priorities of the Ministry of Education. One of the most important supports for teachers is the historic increase in teachers' salaries, which started on July 1, reaching an average of 950 euros.

Manastirliu said that work is being done in cooperation with the local government, that on September 9, when the new school year begins, everything will be ready for students to learn in modern conditions. There is a plan of intensive measures for the inspection of kindergartens and public and non-public schools, the minister declared.

"It is an intensive work with all municipalities in terms of inspections and maintenance in schools, opening new schools like this school and getting ready for their furnishing and equipment with laboratories, didactic tools to get the whole education system ready for the new school year. On the other hand, we already have a plan of intensive measures for inspections in kindergartens and schools, public and non-public. We will pay special attention to the quality of teaching. Besides the fact that we are filling all the vacancies in the education system for the transfer of teachers and in schools where we have student mobility and also in the non-public system in private schools where we will have an increased attention not only to the infrastructure that is of primary importance , but also for the compliance of teachers with the standards we want, starting from their licensing, verification of their continuing education files and also compliance with the subjects they teach in schools to guarantee a high quality of teaching both in public and private education", said the Minister of Education and Sports./ CNA
