Parliament of Albania

The Assembly will close the work of the summer session on Thursday, July 25. While the report on the annual activity of the Supreme State Audit for 2023 will be on the agenda, the deputies are expected to vote on several draft laws, such as the one on the State Police or the draft for the ratification of the financial contract between Albania and the European Bank of investments for the Vorë-Hani i Hoti railway line.

But what is expected to bring heated debates between the majority and the opposition is the discussion of the proposal of the group of opposition experts for the Electoral Reform, which is about the vote of the diaspora and the times on which the parties have agreed in principle.

Another proposal that comes from the opposition is the mixed list, for which the representative of the Socialist Party for Electoral Reform in the Group for Dialogue, Damian Gjiknuri, stated that it should be discussed whether this proposal complies with the decision of the Constitutional Court.

But it remains to be seen in the coming days if the parties agree on a joint final draft and present it to the Assembly before July 25.

In the meantime, it is expected that the Parliament will take a decision regarding the postponement of the deadline of the investigation commission of check-up and sterilization./CNA
