CEC demands investigation of 16 candidates/ Journalist reveals details

Journalist Klodiana Lala has revealed details about the candidates for whom the CEC has requested investigations by the prosecution.

According to the journalist, they are mainly about issues of little importance, while the majority of them are from small parties and have minimal chances of becoming MPs.

Invited to MCN TV, the journalist said:

"16 candidates for whom the CEC has requested that the prosecution conduct an in-depth investigation. They belong to several small parties, Lapaj, Shabani, Qori, Tom Doshi, and so on."

All of them have declared their records abroad. 7 of them have declared that they have been deported from an EU country. Another one has been convicted of theft and there are others sentenced to an administrative measure. The investigation takes a long time. There are others who are not affected by the decriminalization law, such as speeding fines and so on.

If you look at it mathematically, it's unlikely that all of the names will be MPs tomorrow, because they are unknown and mostly just to fill lists on what they call open lists.

So, I'm not concerned about these facts, but that organized crime has supported candidates who could be in the Assembly tomorrow.

"So I continue to go to ground zero, that these two are the biggest problems. How the CEC or SPAK will manage to deal with these candidates or attempts to buy votes, this remains to be seen. This for the 16 candidates is a formality", said Lala./ CNA
