"Parliamentary inquiry, a key role in harmonizing laws with the EU"/

The European Union Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, in his speech at the event organized by the Parliament as part of the Parliamentary Research Day, stated that the legislature must conclude the negotiations with scrupulousness and determination as it has a key role.

Gonzato said that parliamentary research is the foundation in harmonizing laws and informing citizens.

The Ambassador stated that the research helps legislators better explain laws to different categories of citizens and also helps harmonize laws according to Albania's social and economic context.

" Scrubolism and determination are key if you are to conclude negotiations by 2027. The Assembly is the legitimate forum where legislation is proposed. Parliamentary research is the foundation, as it is the job of researchers to harmonize laws and analyze the economic system as this is how EU laws are implemented in Albania, taking into account the context.

This paves the way for trouble-free law enforcement once you know the context.

The Assembly must increase transparency and accountability.

Fact-based, concise, and understandable debate about laws that citizens need to understand.

The MP must be able to provide evidence-based answers to issues, this is the only way to sustainable reforms.

Parliamentary research helps legislators make better decisions.

The mission of EPRS is to increase the credibility of these bodies.

"Good expertise is not cheap, but the cost is negligible compared to the benefits it brings. Albania cannot fail in EU integration. We will invest to ensure that Parliament's decisions are not for political gain in order to become a strong partner in the European Union ," Gonzato declared./ CNA
