The Complaints and Sanctions Commission has dismissed the request of the Democratic Party of Alibeaj for Qerim Ismailaj.

KAS has given the green light to the SP candidate for Mallakastra, Ismailaj, to compete in the May 14 elections.

We remind you that the PD of vula requested the de-registration of the socialist candidate for falsification of documents, an issue for which the GJKKO sentenced him to 6 months in prison.

The legal representative of the PD of Alibeaj, Indrit Sefa, said that Ismailaj's ban on running in the elections has not yet expired.

"Legal provisions prevent Qerim Ismailjan from running for Mallakastra Municipality. According to the law, this gentleman can run in 2025, he cannot run now. He must run after completing the 2-year ban provided for in the law. In 2022, he turned out to be a forger, he was convicted in court. This is not for verification, this is for banning from running. He was sentenced to 6 months in prison, according to the law he should not run for office. When the ban period is over, let him come to vote", said the DP representative.

However, KAS decided in favor of the SP candidate for Mallakastra, allowing him to run in the local elections./ CNA.al
