Democrat Ilir Alimehmeti stated today that considering the situation within the Democratic Party, it is necessary to have constructive dialogue.  

In a television appearance, Alimehmeti stated that the DP is developing continuous communications with the Democrats at the grassroots and in the field.

According to Alimehmet, the discussions held with some groups should not be misunderstood, but are simply missing discussions that have not occurred even after over 6 months since the May 11 elections.

"The most important thing is that I am part of a DP that is based on meetings between people, proposals, requests, analyses. Speech and vote are fundamental elements. In my opinion, democracy comes from the bottom up. There is automatically a responsibility to take it forward. Due to the situations of the electoral code, many elected people have not had the opportunity to be mandated. Their speech represents many people. It should have been spoken before, 6 and a half months after the elections and it did not happen. This is something that we talk about a lot in the field. We communicate with democrats at the grassroots level. We find the same situation everywhere, we need a way to find it. There are many affected people who want to take it forward. We do not have offices everywhere. You give importance to something very insignificant. They are not official bodies that gather in formal areas. We are in an Albanian culture where a lot of work is done in cafes. Even state work. Importantly, there must be constructive dialogue. It seems like talking is wrong, discussing is wrong. We have clarified it. And "It is right that the people who are part of this table explain what happened," said Alimehmeti./ CNA
