Democratic MP Saimir Korreshi clashed today with Socialist MP Eduard Shalsi, regarding a statement made about the opposition's signatures for the People's Advocate.

In his speech in the Assembly, Korreshi stated that he stands by his previous statements and that the signatures were collected before the first session for reviewing the candidates had even begun.

According to Korreshi, the opposition firms withdrew as a joint decision, to come up with a consensual name with the majority.

"I am addressing Shalsi, since he referred me. Shalsi, because I am addressing you like this. Internal affairs are internal, but it is good that you turn on the TV from the beginning to the end, so that you can hear exactly the context in which I have expressed myself. I am responsible for all my signatures that I have cast. As long as there was no group decision-making, signatures could be cast for any candidate so that we would not have clashes and would not be bad with anyone. I have said this and will continue to say it. Even if there was a friendly, family, social connection, a signature could be given. The signatures were taken without having passed the first session, to see if they had the right data. At that moment, there was a reaction. We withdrew the signatures to undergo a procedure. All the signatures were withdrawn, so that they could be elected by consensus", said Korreshi. /CNA
