Rama: Very soon, the public procurement process will be transferred to the hands

Prime Minister Edi Rama was present today at the event "30 years of Public Procurement - Albania, regional leader in the modernization of procurement systems" taking place in Tirana.

In his speech, Rama focused on the process so far, which he considered a good result that has come from extraordinary work.

Rama emphasized that in the next ambitions and goals, it is an advanced task to put the entire procurement process in the hands of AI, with a high percentage that does not involve humans.

"From the review of new data from the procedures of recent years, there is a noticeable difference. It is not a coincidence, but the result of an extraordinary work. Albania should be a leading country for the effectiveness and efficiency of public procurement. Fully underlined in the report on the performance of the public procurement system of the region, but also the result of all that has been said above. I want to emphasize that the monitoring carried out by institutions on behalf of the EU is not like most, which are based on public perceptions, but on an expertise and professionals who have a level of observation and ambition to highlight every swamp that is challenging. We will continue the reform because we want not only to go further, but as far as today's blessing of technology and AI takes us, which are truly gifts of a new time for countries like ours, where all the legacy of history can be overcome with the power of European capacity. Of course, without them the deadlines and ambitions would not be "at this level.
