Democratic MP Belind Këlliçi today asked the socialist majority to remove the name of Endri Shabani, whom he called "Surrel's Rabbit", from the list of candidates for People's Advocate.

In his speech in the Assembly, Këlliçi stated that so far none of the candidacies are legal for voting, while emphasizing the opposition's position that it will not participate in this farce.

"Looking at the agenda, item 18 includes the draft decision on the People's Advocate. We have presented our position on this process through the DP Parliamentary Group. You have been informed of the withdrawal of all signatures of DP deputies for all candidacies that have been presented before the Laws Committee to present the candidacies. There are a full 26 candidacies on the list, including 'Surrel's Rabbit' or Endri Shabani, who today is completing the majority scenario that this time the PS would take the People's Advocate. Our position is clear. So none of the 26 of them have signed the DP to compete for this position. If you go back to the precedent of 2021, signatures for 3 candidacies were withdrawn in this hall. We are clear today. The DP does not participate at all in this farce if you do not remove Shabani's name. From the DP we have the name of Adriana Kala and Besim Ndregjoni. Now that we are talking, none of the candidacies is legal to go to the vote”, said Këlliçi./ CNA
