The Chairperson of the Health Commission, Zheni Gjergji, in a statement to the media, has requested an in-depth investigation regarding the abuses of doctors and patients at the Oncology Hospital.

The Democrat even requested that the file be investigated by SPAK and not by the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana.

This is because, according to her, the cases of doctors who do business with patients' lives are serious and criminal.

"Albanians have learned in shock from the publications in the media the horrifying and shocking truth of health in the Oncology Hospital in the "Mother Teresa" Hospital Center, which exceeds the simple proportions of an abuse of some doctors and medical staff in collaboration with private entities in the field of health.

The life and fate of thousands of Albanian citizens diagnosed with tumoral diseases, often terminal, instead of finding a dignified public health treatment, have in fact faced an inhumane abuse, being treated as prey for financial benefits among the health staff. to the heads of the institution, private clinics and client pharmaceutical firms.

The cases of doctors doing business with patients' lives are serious, criminal. Any violation of ethics, any abuse of the white blouse, with the Hippocratic oath, is punishable. The heart of the citizens after the media release of the conversations, part of the criminal file, is understandable.

The judicial authorities will have to deepen the investigations in the Oncology Hospital and in the entire network of health services. However, not all doctors can be tainted and their work often borders on human sacrifice. But on the other hand, any white shirt that abuses the duty, will have to face the merciless force of the law.

The case of health personnel at Oncology cannot be treated as an isolated case. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection, and all subordinate responsible institutions will have to bear responsibility.

The truth about health, oncology, reduced services, or the lack of medicines should be sought from the main responsible, which are the government and the Ministry of Health.

SPAK and the bodies of Justice will have to engage in an in-depth investigation why there is a lack of medications near the Oncology Department and other hospital services? Why did the Ministry of Health not take measures even though for months the Opposition, the citizens and the media have denounced the serious situation in Oncology and in our health system?

It is a proof of trust for SPAK to respond to this scandalous problem of lack of medications, lack of proper health treatment, thefts and abuses with the force of the law," she said.

Gjegji also asked for an urgent interview with Minister Albana Koçiu about the case.
