Former prime minister Sali Berisha's lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, was asked about the "house arrest" security measure imposed by GJKKO for the chief democrat.

Gjokutaj said that Berisha can communicate as a person under investigation, but also as a politician.

"Mr. Berisha's communication has two functions, as a person under investigation, but also as a politician. In this capacity, he has an obligation to communicate as he is doing. He is not meeting experts or witnesses to intimidate them", he said.

The lawyer said on Blendi Fevzi's show that the leader of the DP is free to meet members of the party who go to his house, or even his voters.

"Absolutely yes! If there are problems closely related to political activity, definitely. Journalists must obtain authorization. But Mr. Berisha can also communicate through social networks", he declared.

Gjokutaj stressed that "Berisha's political activity is unaffected by the court's decision".

The lawyer underlined that in case he wants to go to the Parliament in order not to lose his mandate, Berisha must notify SPAK./ CNA
