Balla takes stock of the work of the police: We seized 2.6 million euros undeclared at the border

The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, during the annual analysis of the Ministry of the Interior, said that during 2023, crime has been hit.  

"The number of Albanian cars has doubled. The number of road incidents has halved. 10 million and 150 thousand foreign citizens visited Albania. 87 cases of not declaring money at the border were struck, 2.6 million euros were seized. 58 cases were struck. smuggling and 10 cases of car trafficking. 154 cases of illegal immigrant trafficking were hit. We need more support from municipalities so that the police have more access to monitor the streets. Calling every citizen to give up of any kind of arson, the Penal Code foresees 15 years in prison for this criminal offense. The new approach to the use of fireworks has had a very good result, said Balla. /CNA
