With their eyes from the window of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha's apartment, many citizens gathered in support of the historic leader of the Democratic Party.

The protest was attended by Berisha's daughter Argita Malltezi and well-known political figures.

Citizens participating in the protest turned on their phone flashes in support of Berisha, while waiting for his exit to the balcony of the house. 

It didn't take long and the former prime minister appeared in front of the protesters with flags in their hands. In his right hand he held the flag of Albania and in his left hand the flag of the DP.

Berisha started the speech with a thank you to those who support him, saying that they are 'reviving hope'.

"First, a heartfelt and humble thank you to each of you, every time I walk out this window and see you here, I feel a mighty wind blowing. This is not the seasonal wind of January, this is not the wind cold winter, but this is the wind of hope, the wind of victory, the wind of the future for the DP and the Albanians.
This is the wind of change, which originates from your soul, heart, ideals and has all the power to changed the destinies of Albanians and Albania. Your gathering here emits the first rays of light that illuminate an Albania that was immersed in darkness. You are reviving hope, you are reviving faith, therefore my greatest thanks to you democrats and democrats gathered today on this street," said Berisha. 

According to Berisha, this movement this winter will unite everyone and lead to the DP's victory.

The citizens left, ending the protest after Berisha's speech, and express their conviction that they will continue with the protests./ CNA
