Two months before the elections/ Rama: We will make two more increases for the

Prime Minister Edi Rama has published a diagram showing the increase of the minimum wage in Albania from 2013 to 2023.

Through a post on social networks, Rama writes that Albania has left Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina behind with the recent increase of the minimum wage by 40 thousand new lek.

"We started from the last place in the region for the level of the minimum wage, while with the latest increase we climb to the third place equal to North Macedonia, leaving behind Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo.

We will make two more increases to close this term with a minimum salary of 45 thousand lek, from 38 thousand which was our electoral objective, but which did not take into account the inflation of Putin's war to economically bring the whole of Europe to its knees!

Meanwhile, this increase beyond the minimum wage forecasts also imposes an increase in the average wage to rebalance the wage pyramid, which will be done simultaneously in April

*Some comment that the minimum wage should be 70 or 80 thousand ALL, but the calculation of the minimum wage is based on economic productivity and competitiveness, not on our wishes (no country in the region has such a minimum). Any artificial increase of it quickly brings destabilizing consequences for the economy, employment, finances of the country", writes Prime Minister Rama./ CNA.al
