He came first in the Democratic Party primaries for Tirana/ Hysen Kadiu

Hysen Kadiu, the most voted candidate in the Democratic Party primaries with 913 votes for Tirana, withdraws from the race.

Official sources for CNA confirm his decision.

In a post on social media, Kadiu declares that he will not run on the open list for Tirana, as contrary to what was agreed with the leaders of the DP, they have not included him on the closed list.

The judge, in his reaction, considers it a party of Qokash.

Hysen Kadiu's full statement:


"First, I want to thank my family, friends, acquaintances, acquaintances and strangers in my Kavaja, who believed in me and voted for me in the DP primaries, giving me the confidence to be on the main list of candidates for deputies in the Tirana district. After several conversations with the DP chairman, Mr. Sali Berisha, I decided not to be part of the open list for the Tirana district.

Contrary to what I had previously discussed and agreed with the senior leaders of the DP, my name was not included in the closed list of candidates for deputies. In order to be part of the primaries, according to the party statute, I resigned as the chairman of the Kavaja branch, where we all worked hard together to keep the DP united and win the municipality two years ago. My entire journey in the DP, from the first day as a teenager to the victory a few days ago, is closely linked to Kavaja and its citizens, who deserve dignified representation. Kavaja cannot be constantly considered as the storehouse of votes for the DP, while its representation on the lists of deputies is unworthy.

It is wrong to think that I am afraid of a race on an open list. The facts and the recent votes for the local elections and primaries clearly showed the strength and weight of the Democrats of Kavaja. But the commitment, dedication, seriousness and passion to do the best for the Democrats, in addition to the votes received, must also be translated into appreciation for those who have given their contribution. A large and valuable party like the DP cannot turn into a party that plays tricks on the favorites of the center and leaves out of priorities the true resisters, who have stood by it in difficult times and who have tried every day to do their best for it.

The decision not to be part of the DP's open list for Tirana was not an easy one, but it was the right one to give myself the necessary time to reflect on my further political commitment and also to show my fellow citizens that dignity and keeping my word have been the values ??on which I have built my long-standing relationship with them and principles on which I will never violate.

"I, like Hysen, and my family will remain as we have always been: democrats of civic values, with faith in God who guides us on our daily path and with the eternal belief that justice will find its way, no matter how complicated the path may become," says Kadiu. /CNA
