Ervin Demos' resignation / Berat Municipality heads to early elections

Berat will go to early local elections after Ervin Demos' resignation from office.

Demo resigned from the post of mayor of Berat after he will run for MP in the parliamentary elections on May 11.

The Berat Prefecture has sent a letter to the CEC, announcing the vacancy in the municipality following the resignation of Ervin Demos.

“ Subject: Announcement on the resignation of the Mayor of Berat, Mr. Ervin Demo. Tirana Council of Ministers.

In the institution of the Prefect of the Berat District, a document with no. 1446/1prot, dated 11.03.2025 of the Berat Municipality Council with the subject "Notice on the resignation of the Mayor of Berat Municipality" has been administered.

In accordance with Law No. 139/2015 "On Local Self-Government", Article 61 "Premature termination of the mandate of the Mayor", point 1, letter d, points 2, 3, we are forwarding the resignation from the position of Mayor of Mr. Ervin Demo.
