At today's leadership meeting, the Socialist Party will decide the final names that will run for deputies in the May 11 elections.

Socialist leader Rama has declared that socialists who have more than one mandate as MPs will compete on an open list.

Based on this statement, it appears that the leaders of all 12 districts will run on the open list.

While some of the district leaders have not had a mandate as a deputy and are therefore expected to be on the closed lists of the Socialist Party.

Also on the closed lists will be some of the ministers who have never held a parliamentary mandate, as well as candidates from the "The MP We Want" platform.

As for Prime Minister Edi Rama, his candidacy still remained a mystery, after recent statements in which he said he might not run.

Meanwhile, at the ceremony declaring Tirana the capital, about a month ago, Rama declared that he would run in the Tirana district as part of the open list.
