Hearing for Veliaj/Gjokutaj: New evidence may have been found on his phone

Lawyer Genci Gjokutaj said today that one of the new pieces of evidence that SPAK may have presented at Monday's hearing against Erion Veliaj could be his cell phone.

In a television show, Gjokutaj said that prosecutors may have found traces of the criminal offenses for which the mayor of Tirana is accused on Veliaj's phone.

Gjokutaj emphasized that the cell phone is the only one that is seized at the moment of arrest and that the BKH experts had a month to conduct its examination.

 "This is an appeal hearing, against the first instance decision and he has probably become comfortable during the day. Veliaj deals with secondary circumstances, conditions and criteria. He says that he is not dangerous, he says that he does not destroy evidence and does not leave, but he does not say a word about the criminal fact and the reasonable suspicion that is the cornerstone of a security measure and then derives with a request from which he claims innocence, a non-existent innocence. He converts to a milder measure, which in a way speaks of a penalty.
