CNA has denounced the connections of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, and the benefits of family members.

One of the profit schemes is related to Arbër Veliaj , the brother of Erion Veliaj, one of the people who dominates the advertising market in Albania.

CNA showed how the profits of Arbër Veliaj's company "Gogel" increased as soon as Erion Veliaj took the post of mayor of Tirana. ( Read here )

These facts were denounced this evening by the chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in a meeting with the working groups of the Democratic Party in Tirana.

Berisha said Arbër Veliaj bought the company for 100 euros and its income has grown tremendously with Veliaj as mayor.

He stated that the mayor's brother won several tenders in violation of the laws.

"Erion Veliaj's brother, the year his brother became mayor, bought a company for 100 euros. Today it is 32 million euros. Tenders won that are all in violation of the laws. This is just an example of how these assets are distributed", emphasized Berisha./ CNA
