The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, participated in an activity held at the Tyrrhenian Pyramid with the youth.
The mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, came before Blinken to meet him at the entrance of the Pyramid.
But despite Veliaj's every effort to catch the eye of the US Secretary of State, the latter has not paid much attention to him.
During his speech, Blinken gave all the credit to Prime Minister Edi Rama, although Veliaj was present during the meeting.
The American secretary spoke with superlatives about the head of the government and left the mayor in total shadow.
"I feel the warm environment outside, but I especially feel the warmth in this room and in every other room I've been in Tirana. I cannot explain to you how grateful I am.
I thank Mr. Prime Minister, Ed, I thank you, I am very happy to be with you today in a city that you, as a former mayor, have given energy and beautiful colors to. I am grateful, but I am especially grateful for the partnership that we both have. Mr. Prime Minister is not only an outstanding leader, but also a very good Prime Minister. In the last 4 years, in every difficulty we have had, Mr. Prime Minister has been by our side and has faced these difficulties together with us", said Antony Blinken, among others./ CNA
