The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, has stated that he is in constant contact with the DP deputies who are standing by the side of Lulzim Basha.

Bardhi made his comments on the show "Now with Erla Mëhillin" on Euronews Albania, where he said that the democratic deputies who stand by Basha should return to their role of opposing the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama and not opposing the opposition.

"Colleagues believe in a certain development within the DP. I understand it, but in my judgment it is wrong and the sooner they understand it, the more they serve the public interest and the interest of Albania. I have very good MP friends who have not joined this union that has now happened in the DP and in the Parliamentary group.

The overwhelming part of them I have friends, they are every day united to join us. I stay with them, I discuss with them. I also did it with my colleagues who lined up on the first day to support Berisha. Even during the time when the PD was in conflict with itself, I talked about common concerns.

The important thing is that the entire DP group is united in its vast part, the structures are united and I expect all colleagues to return to the role of opposing Rama and give up the opposition for the opposition, because this does not serve them", said Bardhi.
