The American Embassy in Tirana has reacted to the visit of the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken in Tirana.

The embassy announces that Blinken will meet with President Begaj, Prime Minister Rama and will participate in a special youth activity at the Pyramid of Tirana, to celebrate the future of US-Albania relations.

According to the embassy, ??Blinken will meet with justice system leaders and the embassy community. Thus, the embassy has confirmed the news of the meeting between Blinken and the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani. 

"Welcome to Albania, Secretary Blinken! During his first visit to Albania, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will meet with President Bajram Begaj, Prime Minister Edi Rama and will participate in a special youth activity at The Pyramid of Tirana, to celebrate the future of US-Albania relations. He will also meet with leaders of the justice system and the embassy community. Follow us along this historic visit," said the reaction.

This morning, the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken arrived in Albanian land. This moment is historic for Albania. Blinken is the sixth Secretary to visit Albania in 33 years of democracy.

Blinken's agenda 

At 1:35 PM, Blinken will hold a meet and greet with the employees of the American Embassy in Tirana and family members in Tirana, Albania.

At 14:15 Blinken will meet with Afghans who have applied for visas.

At 15:05 Blinken will meet with President Bajram Begaj in Albania.

At 3:35 p.m., Secretary Blinken will address a youth and alumni event titled "Celebrating the Future of US-Albania Relations" in Tirana, Albania.

16:15 Blinken will meet with Prime Minister Edi Rama.

17:55 Secretary Blinken will participate in a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding on the Fulbright Academic Exchange and a Memorandum of Understanding on the Framework Against Foreign Information Manipulation in Tirana, Albania.

This event will be streamed live on the Department's homepage and YouTube channel. 

18:10 Blinken and Prime Minister Edi Rama will hold a joint press conference in Tirana, Albania./CNA
