The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has shared details from his meeting with the Founder of the European Conservatives Foundation New Directions, Geoffrey Van Orden, through a status on social networks. In his post, Berisha writes that they discussed the difficult political situation in Albania and Van Orden expressed his readiness for cooperation with the DP after the elections.

"Dear friends,

Today I had the honor to receive in my office at the headquarters of the Democratic Party Mr. Geoffrey Van Orden, former Chairman of the Conservative Group of Great Britain in the European Parliament and Founder of the European Conservatives Foundation New Directions, whose Honorary Chairman was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Lady Thatcher. In this meeting we discussed the cooperation between the Democratic Party of Albania and the European Conservatives Foundation in the upcoming parliamentary elections and in the preparation of our electoral program. Mr. Van Orden expressed his pleasure to be in Albania at the invitation of the Democratic Party and the Albanian Policy Center Institute, while expressing his readiness for our fruitful cooperation. With Van Orden, we talked about the aggravated political situation in Albania, the Albanian narco-state as well as the upcoming parliamentary elections of May 11 and the victory of the Democratic Party of Albania. Also present at this meeting were Mr. Geoffrey Van Orden's wife, Mrs. Fannie Van Orden and Mrs. Edith Harxhi, Member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Albania./ CNA
