The Chairman of the National Council of the Democratic Party, Edi Paloka, spoke in a television interview about the arrest of Erion Veliaj. Paloka said that Veliaj's arrest scared Prime Minister Rama, as the latter knows that Veliaj can speak. According to Paloka, this is also the reason why Rama told Veliaj that he did not sell him out. The Chairman of the National Council of the DP said that the majority knew for a long time that Veliaj would be arrested and that is why Rama resigned from the leadership of Tirana.

 

"He doesn't want Veliaj to believe that Rama sold him, as has happened with all those he has sold either openly or by agreement. And Veliaj has made it clear that, I will speak, I will not remain silent. This is a diabolical game, it is not the same as Rama saying I will speak from the Prime Minister's office. This has scared Rama because he knows that Veliaj does not keep the prison. Veliaj is not Beqja, who even passes the beqir. Rama knows Veliaj well and knows that he can speak and this may be the reason that he told him that I did not sell you, but they have known for a long time that he would be arrested.
