Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted through a post on the X platform, regarding the joke he and French President Macron made about Trump's statements during the summit in Denmark.

Rama writes that it was a friendly moment, which has been twisted into political poison.

The Prime Minister further writes that that moment was a moment of humor among some people who are the biggest admirers of the American president.

 

“It is truly remarkable how today’s media works and how so-called “virality” can so easily distort reality. A sentence said in good humor, in the spirit of friendship, suddenly turns into a world headline of an entire summit between dozens of nations, while everything else, the real substance, becomes irrelevant. But yes, it was very entertaining today to be with my old friend Ilham Aliyev and, in the presence of our dear mutual friend Emmanuel Macron, to refer to a mistake of President Trump that Albania also managed to make peace with Azerbaijan, while Emmanuel himself worked tirelessly, for a long time, to bring peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia. A light remark, a friendly moment. Of course, there is no problem if it spreads, but twisting it into political venom is simply unfair. So, let’s clarify the situation: The truth is that President Trump has shown himself to be a leader who has returned the word "peace" in the West's vocabulary after many years.
