"The decreed election date is null"/ Bylykbashi: Give the GJK a chance

The decree of November 9 for the local by-elections by President Bajram Begaj has caused debates in the Parliamentary Committee for Legal Affairs. Democratic MP Oerd Bylykbashi declared that the decreed date is null and void since it was decided by Edi Rama himself.

Bylykbashi said that the majority has also degraded the Constitutional Court, but it should be given time to consider Veliaj's dismissal.

 

"The decreed date is null as long as there is a case in the CC to be reviewed. The President can do all the pirouettes he wants, but the violation he committed by issuing the decree is contrary to the Constitution. Without violating the CC, there cannot be a process in accordance with the Constitution."

"Yesterday's violation of the Constitution by decreeing the election date, claiming that it is not in accordance with Article 115, is more than a mistake, it is a conscious act on the orders of the Prime Minister. It is possible that the Constitutional Court will be in the same conditions because you have degraded it in this way, but this remains to be seen. Let's give it a chance this time, although, who knows, it may even surprise us," said Bylykbashi./ CNA
