Partial elections in 6 municipalities/ Kaso: DP should enter the race, political

Democratic MP Ivi Kaso declared today that the Democratic Party should participate in the by-elections to be held on November 9 in 6 municipalities across the country, a decision he described as an ethical and political dilemma.

Invited to A2CNN, Kaso stated that these elections find the opposition in difficult conditions, as it claims equal competition and rules of the game.

Kaso said that despite the difficulties, the opposition's mission is to provide an alternative for citizens.

"The dilemma is political and ethical. The election date will de facto remain November 9. The DP will have to make a political decision to enter the electoral process under difficult conditions for any opposition that claims equal competition and rules of the game, because the electoral farce we left behind shows that a government that has the responsibility to organize elections with standards, the last thing is to organize them as provided for by the law.

International criticisms were of an unequal competition. This would be a cause for concern for any opposition to enter the elections.

The opposition has as its mission, duty and vocation the provision of an alternative, the battle with every means at its disposal, regardless of the conditions. Even in this context, we have had an analogous situation from this president for the Municipality of Himara. The GJK has not yet given its word for these elections. There has been no decision to share this work", - said Kaso./ CNA
