The "Fight" for the Municipality of Tirana/ CNA reveals the 11 names

The Democratic Party is continuing its negotiations with allies, with small parties, those that emerged as an opposition front in the May 2025 elections.

In fact, many of them came out on their own, but now the need to have a common candidate for Tirana belongs to all parties.

The DP, for its part, wants a positive result and not as shocking as the parliamentary elections, and its allies understandably want to hide behind the DP's finger and name.

However, the elections in the capital clearly favor the majority, but the opposition is doing its best to find a few names that will unite all the small parties or other political roots to maximize votes.

Some of the names being discussed are Edlira Çepani , one of the founders of the party Albania Becomes Adriatic Lapaj and the wife of the late Gert Bogdani, who was also the leader of the FRPD in the DP and Secretary for Foreign Relations.

The second and surprising name seems to be Adi Krasta , a well-known moderator, an experienced journalist who runs A Show on Syri TV. It is not known whether Krasta will get involved in politics, this seems very unlikely, but he is one of the names at the discussion table.

Another name from the world of media and art is Florian Binaj, the actor and moderator of Piranha, a name that is being negotiated to compete for the capital.

Another name is Adriatik Lapaj who has said that he will not be. Lapaj is among those brave people like Jorida Tabaku or Ilir Alimehmet who, when real competitions elude them, emerge as candidates at the best moments, and when there are difficulties, they hide behind their fingers.

Adriana Kalaja is a name that has been offered for the capital city, considering the names that have emerged or been proposed to compete.

Florian Açka is one of the names that CNA was able to obtain from official sources close to allies and negotiations being carried out by the DP.

Another name is that of Gjergj Bojaxhiu , the former Deputy Minister of Energy in the Berisha government.

A ninth name that CNA has been able to uncover is that of Agron Shehaj . CNA has learned that he has been offered the opportunity to run himself and receive all the opposition support for the capital. It is not known whether Shehaj will enter the game.

He clearly now appears to be more than a true opposition figure in the electoral contests, a scheme and a game of Edi Rama's power interests.

The tenth name is that of Klevis Balliu, who proposed himself. He courageously came forward and said that I am the one competing with Ogerta Manastirliu.

The eleventh candidate is Ermal Hasimja , a political scientist, one of the people who is in his private educational activity.

These are the 11 names that CNA was able to secure, there are other names as well, of course in such cases those that emerge as initial names then fall, rise, it seems that the negotiations are not without difficulties due to the trauma that the opposition suffered in the parliamentary elections.

The fact that the Socialist Party seems to be very well-organized, that it has started the campaign in the capital, the candidacy of Ogerta Manastirliu or even the campaign manager Belinda Balluku makes the race in the capital quite scary for the opposition parties, but in any case, all efforts are being made to have the most dignified race possible, with the most maximized vote possible to then bring to the electorate a candidate who will show the true opposition spirit and will reveal a hope, at least a glimmer of hope for the opposition in the capital./ CNA
