The head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted after President Begaj decreed the date of the local elections.

Through a post on social media, Bardhi writes that there are no surprises and Begaj has carried out a constitutional coup with the decree.

Bardhi writes that Edi Rama has taken Bajram Begaj hostage and commands him just like "Diella".

" No surprises from Bajram Begaj!"

As we had warned, Bajram Begaj is not the President of the Albanians, but a robot commanded by Edi Rama. With the serious violation he has committed today against the Constitution, the President of the Republic has committed a constitutional coup because he has also destroyed the authority of the Constitutional Court of Albania and the foundations on which the rule of law is built.

The partial elections in the Municipality of Tirana have entered a constitutional impasse due to today's act of the President of the Republic. The jurisdiction to review the appeal against the Council of Ministers' dismissal is not assigned by Edi Rama in relation to the matter, but by the Constitution of the Republic of Albania. A constitutional mandate cannot be terminated except for the reasons expressly provided for in the Constitution and this is subject to constitutional control.
