Former Socialist MP Petro Koçi commented today on the situation of the opposition in the new legislature.

In a television appearance, Koçi said that the opposition is hindering itself and is not reflecting on the resumption of parliament.

Koçi criticized the opposition's approach in its presentation in Parliament, but also in relation to internationals.

"The opposition itself prevented the presentation of the government program in Parliament. I do not see any reflection on it. In the EU integration process, the country's progress is clearly visible, through the reading of the group chapters, and the achievement of standards is also read through the completion of these group chapters.

The doors of the EU are more open than ever and this is a great opportunity for the country, so I think that this is where the opposition is wrong. The government has its own special merits, while the opposition is simply reinforcing this through its actions. They only blacken with their speeches, both here and in meetings with internationals. They start and end with drug trafficking, the Rama government, etc., for me this is a wrong approach from the opposition. I think the report on the elections will be awaited with great interest.

"The moment the ODIHR and OSCE report comes out, we will have a lesson for the subsequent changes and I think we need to have an electoral reform as soon as possible. I believe that there is time for electoral reform since the next elections are in two years, the local ones, despite the partial local ones. I think that the most urgent thing is the territorial reform", - said Koçi. /CNA
