Democratic Party MP Elda Hoti delivered her speech at today's meeting of the Committee on Civic Initiatives, Cooperation and Institutional Oversight.
Hoti has described the establishment of this parliamentary commission in the Albanian Parliament as hypocrisy. According to her, institutional oversight is no longer a guarantee of justice, adding that this was proven by President Bajram Begaj, who she said certified illegal elections.
The MP added that the presence of the opposition in this committee will be the voice of the citizens.
"The Committee on Civic Initiatives, the hypocrisy that is happening in the Assembly of Albania. Unfortunately, the Assembly and Parliament have returned to the service of organized crime and gangs. The institutional oversight that should have been a guarantor of justice, but as was seen yesterday, the president of Albania certified illegal elections and showed that he is not a guarantor of justice. We as the opposition will be here as the voice of the citizens and not allowing ourselves to become part of a false democracy", said Hoti./ CNA
